Getting Here: Reaching Makokibatan

Thunder Bay International Airport is well serviced by several airlines, providing efficient connections with most North American cities. Makokibatan Lodge guests fly in to the lodge on a floatplane from the town of Nakina. Our Thunder Bay package offers ground transportation between Thunder Bay and Nakina as well as accommodation the evening before flying into the remote lake. Nakina is an easy 3.5 hour drive from Thunder Bay on good paved highways.

Our packages begin in Nakina, with the floatplane transportation included in the package price. From Nakina Outpost's air base in Nakina, you will be flown directly into the lodge on float equipped DeHavilland Beaver or Otter aircraft. Flights on Saturday (8:00 and 10:00am) and Wednesday (8:00 and 10:00am). Free parking is available at Nakina Outpost's parking lot.
